About Copperwing

Copperwing Business Advisory was established to support Boards and CEOs seeking to strengthen financial governance capability as their organisations grow in scale and complexity.

As organisations evolve, financial decision-making, governance oversight and planning discipline become increasingly critical — yet these capabilities do not always develop at the same pace as organisational growth.

The practice provides structured, governance-focused financial leadership, helping organisations build clarity, discipline and confidence in financial decision-making, governance oversight and long-term sustainability.

This includes strengthening financial visibility, improving forward planning and supporting Boards and executives with clear, well-grounded financial insight.

Why Copperwing was established

Across many regional organisations, financial complexity often increases faster than governance capability.

As organisations grow, leadership teams are required to make increasingly complex financial decisions — often without the structured visibility, forecasting discipline or governance frameworks needed to support those decisions with confidence.

At the same time, many organisations do not require, or cannot justify, a full-time Chief Financial Officer — yet still need experienced financial leadership at a Board and executive level.

Copperwing was established to address this gap.

The practice provides structured, governance-focused financial leadership — anchored in a clear diagnostic framework — to help organisations strengthen capability, improve decision-making and support long-term sustainability.

Who We Work With

Copperwing works with Boards and executive teams across regional organisations, including:

• Not-for-profit organisations with increasing scale or funding complexity
• Health, community and education providers
• Growth-stage SMEs requiring stronger financial structure and discipline

These organisations are typically experiencing:

• increasing financial and operational complexity
• greater governance expectations
• a need for more forward-looking financial visibility

The focus is on working with organisations that value structured thinking, governance discipline and long-term sustainability.

How We Work

Engagements are grounded in a structured Financial Governance Diagnostic, providing a clear view of current capability and identifying priorities for improvement.

From this foundation, Copperwing supports Boards and leadership teams through ongoing advisory, focused on strengthening financial governance, improving visibility and supporting confident decision-making.

The approach is deliberately selective — maintaining a small number of client relationships to ensure depth, continuity and quality of engagement.
